Nobel Prize in Literature

October 8th, 2008

Horace Engdahl’s comments about American literature (and Dr. Robert Gallo’s related snub as a non-recepient of the Prize in Medicine) suggests to us that a smart reader-of-literature would put his money on Amos Oz (although the awarding of the Prize on Yom Kippur to an Israeli writer could be an issue) or Australian poet, Les Murray. We’ll pull for the latter, if only because Dame Poetry could use another illuminated Nobel diploma-cum-fat check.

We’ll be on the edge of our seats until tomorrow’s announcement.
