The 85 year old former U.S. Poet Laureate and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner will receive $100,000 at ceremony on May 25th in Chicago. Since 1986 The Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize has honored lifetime achievements of American poets. “If you had to put all your money on one living poet whose work will be read in a hundred years, Richard Wilbur would be a good bet,” said Christian Wiman, editor of Poetry Magazine, and a jury member.
