Jay Parini�s fourth book of poetry, House of Days (Owl) appeared in 1998. In 1999 he won the Chicago Tribune-Heartland Award for Nonfiction with Robert Frost: A Life (Owl, 2000). His most recent novel, The Apprentice Lover, appeared this spring from HarperCollins. His poems in this issue will be included in his New & Selected Poems, due out in 2003. (2002)
