Reetika Vazirani had her first book of poetry, White Elephants (Beacon, 1996), selected by Marilyn Hacker for the 1995 Barnard New Women Poets� Prize. Her poems have been widely published in such publications as Agni, The Paris Review, Literary Review and Partisan Review. Her honors include a Discovery/The Nation Award, the Virginia Faulkner Award for Literary Excellence from Prairie Schooner, a Pushcart Prize and inclusion in The Best American Poetry: 2000. She is a Contributing and Advisory Editor for Shenandoah and Callaloo. She is also the Margaret Banister Writer-in-Residence at Sweet Briar College. (2001)
