B.H. Fairchild is the author of five books of poetry, most recently Early Occult Memory Systems of the Lower Midwest (W.W. Norton, 2002), winner of a National Book Critics Circle Award. Such Holy Song, a study of William Blake, was published in 2006 by Kent State. The American Academy of Arts and Letters awarded him the Arthur Rense Poetry Prize.
