Marguerite Thoburn Watkins was born in the foothills of the Himalayas, lived there and in Jabalpur in Central India as a child, and spent most of her adult life in Lynchburg, Virginia. She is the author of the memoir Two Taproots: Growing Up in the Forties in India and America (2004) and a poetry collection, Patterns in Henna (2007), both self-published through Xlibris.
