Alison Townsend is the author of two poetry collections, The Blue Dress (White Pine, 2003) and What the Body Knows (Parallel, 2005). She teaches at the University of Wisconsin—Whitewater and lives on four acres of oak and prairie savanna in the farm country outside Madison. Her poetry appears in Smartish Pace, Issue 13.
