Barry Spacks is a professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, after many years of teaching at MIT. He is the author of two novels, three CDs of his selected work and nine poetry collections, most recently The Hope of the Air (Michigan State, 2004). He has published over 350 poems in various journals, paper and pixel, and two novels. Spacks Street: New and Selected Poems (Johns Hopkins, 1982), was nominated for a National Book Critics Circle Award and won the Commonwealth Club of California’s Poetry Medal.
