McCombs, Davis

Davis McCombs wrote Ultima Thule (Yale, 2000), chosen by W. S. Merwin as the winner of the 1999 Yale Series of Younger Poets and a finalist for a National Book Critics Circle Award in poetry, and Dismal Rock (Tupelo 2007), selected by Linda Gregerson as the winner of the Dorset Prize. He is a recipient of an NEA grant, a Ruth Lilly Poetry Fellowship, a Henry Hoyns Fellowship and a Wallace Stegner Fellowship. He lives in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where he directs the Creative Writing Program at the University of Arkansas. [bio updated 2011]
