Mathis, Cleopatra

Cleopatra Mathis received her M.F.A. from Columbia University and is now Professor of English and Creative Writing at Dartmouth College. Her fifth book of poetry, What to Tip the Boatman?, which includes the poems that appear in this issue, will appear this spring from Sheep Meadow Press. She has received an NEA grant, The Robert Frost Award and the Peter Lavin Award for Younger Poets from the Academy of American Poets. Her poems have appeared in Poetry, The New Yorker, Georgia Review, Southern Review, Tri-Quarterly and Yale Review. (2001)
