Mariana Marin was born in Bucharest, Romania, where she is now a free-lance journalist. She is the author of four books of poetry, most recently: The Workshops (Bucharest: Cartea Romaneasca [The Romanian Book], 1990) and The Mutilation of the Artist as a Young Women (Bucharest: Muzeul Literaturii Romane [Romanian Literature Museum], 1990). Translations of her poems by Adam Sorkin have appeared in The Portsmouth Review, The Kit-Cat Review, Romanian Civilizations and Compost. (2001)
