X.J. Kennedy is a former Poetry Editor of The Paris Review. In the early 1970s he published Counter/Measures, a magazine devoted to the use of traditional forms in poetry. Dark Horses (Johns Hopkins, 1992) is the most recent of his six books of poetry. He has also authored eighteen children�s books and several textbooks including the 8th edition of An Introduction to Poetry, with Dana Gioia (Longman, 2002).
