Joan Colby is the author of The Atrocity Book (Eastern Washington, 1984), The Lonely Hearts Killers (Spoon River, 1986) and five other books of poetry. She has received two Illinois Arts Council Literary Awards and an IAC Artist Fellowship. Her poetry received an honorable mention in the 2008 and 2009 James Hearst Poetry Prize contest, won a 2009 Editor’s Choice award from MARGIE and was a finalist for both the 2007 GSU Poetry Contest and The Pablo Neruda Prize for Poetry.
