Anamika teaches English at Satyawati College, Delhi University. She is the author of six collections of poetry, most recently Khurduri Hatheliyan (Radhakrishna Prakashan, New Delhi, 2005) and Doob-Dhan (Bharatiya Gyan Peeth, New Delhi, 2007). She has received the following awards for her poetry: Bharat Bhushan (1996), Girija Mathur Samman (1998), Sahityakar Samman (1998), Parampara Smman (2001) and Sahityakar Samman (2004).
