Alice Notely, the author of over 25 books of poetry, has been awarded the $100,000 Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize. The prize, first established in 1986, is one of the most prestigious awards in the field, annually given to “a living U.S. poet whose lifetime accomplishments warrant extraordinary recognition” (The Poetry Foundation). She will be presented with the award at a ceremony at the Poetry Foundation on June 8.
