Friends, family and colleagues gathered yesterday at the University of Wyoming to remember Craig Arnold. Arnold, 41, went missing April 25, 2009 while hiking on a volcano on a remote Japanese island. More than 100 people gathered to share stores of Arnold’s life and read his poetry. He had new poems in Smartish Pace Issue 15 and the editors of Smartish Pace had the good fortune to meet and socialize with Craig on a couple of occasions. Our hearts go out to his son and the rest of his family.
