Iran will host a poetry conference, featuring 30 poets from 30 countries, starting October 19, 2009. The conference will feature readings and lectures, begin in Tehran, continue to Isfahan and close in Shiraz. The self stated intent, from Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, is to “see firsthand the importance of understanding the impact of cultural diversity on literature.”
