The late Poet Laureate Ted Hughes is to be remembered in a poetry prize funded by the new holder of the post, Carol Ann Duffy. The 53-year-old is giving her £5,750 annual laureate’s honorarium to establish the Ted Hughes Award for New Work in Poetry. The winner will receive £5,000 with the remainder funding administration and judges. Ms Duffy said she was “delighted” to be founding the award.
