Former U.S. poet laureate Robert Hass has won the 2008 Pulitzer Prize in poetry
for his latest book, Time and Materials. Hass teaches at UC Berkeley, is chancellor of the Academy of American Poets and co-founded River of Words, an organization that promotes environmental and arts educatin in affiliation with the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress. Jurors selecting his book for the Pulitzer were Claudia Emerson (2006 winner), Wesley McNair and Natasha Trethewey (2007 winner).
