You might be more surprised to learn that Wales has a Children’s Poet Laureate than to learn that Gwyneth Glyn, age 26, recently became the youngest to hold the position. Upon hearing the news Glyn stated, “I like the idea that poetry is something for the ear – and that it is everywhere about us – in the sound of traffic, in an argument between lovers, in rap on the radio and in a grandfather’s snoring.”
